UPGRADING TEST ON 5 APRIL 08

Upgrading Test for Color Belts was conducted on 05 April 2008 at Sir John Moore Barracks, Folkestone. Master Rastra Rai 5th Degree Black Belt WTF/ITF (Founder and President of the Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang (STKDD)) was chief examiner on the day. Total 33 students including 4 from Maidstone took the test and achieved their next higher grade. The candidates group photograph was taken with their club instructors (Sgt Ramprasad Limbu and Cpl Rajesh Rai), their parents, Master Rastra Rai and GM 2RGR – Maj Shivakumar Limbu MBE, MVO.


CORNER JUDGES COURSE ON 13 APR 08

Corner Judges Referee course, instructed by Master Gerry Reilly, was conducted at Maidestone on Sunday 13 April 2008 as a part of preparation for the forthcoming Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang Championship. All available instructors attended and completed the course successfully. Your help is greatly appreciated.

MASTER RASTRA HOLDS 5TH DAN IN WTF AND ITF

Master Rastra Rai has recently been upgraded to 5th Degree Black Belt by the Imperial Taekwondo Association (ITF).  He now holds 5th Degree Black Belts in both WTF and ITF styles.  Congratulation Master!


Master Rastra and two Nepalese competitors from United Kingdom participated in the 1st Everest Open Invitation ITF Tae Kwon Do Championship held in Nepal from 16th to 22 December 2007.  Master Rastra Rai went there in the capacity of an Official requested by the Nepal ITF Tae Kwon Do.  The two competitors Nir Kedem and Dinesh Gurung won Gold medals.  The below picture shows Master Rastra Rai being honoured by Mr Laxman Basnet 4th Degreee Black Belt (IV) President/Founder of Nepalese ITF Tae Kwon Do Association.

On the 1st of December 2007, the WTF Poomse training for all Black Belts and Coloured belts was conducted at Sir John Moore Barracks, Folkestone.  The training was supervised and instructed by Master Rastra Rai.  At the same time, Mr Jurendra Limbu, Instructor Sandhurst Branch was also presented with his 1st Dan Certificate by Master Rastra Rai.  More pictures.

FOLKESTONE UPGRADING ON 06 OCTOBER 2007

  

Upgrading for Color Belts for Folkestone Branch was conducted on 06 October 2007 at Sir John Moore Barracks, Folkestone.  Master Rastra Rai 5th Degree Black Belt WTF/ITF (Founder and President of the Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang (STKDD))was the examiner on the day.  A group photo was taken with the students and their parents.

THANK YOU DINNER HELD IN HONOUR OF THE SPONSORS WHO HAD MADE OUR PARTICIPATION IN THE WORLD ITF TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHOP A REALITY.  AND ALSO TO WELCOME THE NEPALESE TEAM FROM NEPAL.

On the 8th of August 2007, a Thank You Dinner Night was hosted by the Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang UK in honour of all those sponsors who had kindly contributed and made the participations a reality.  And in conjunction with the occasion, also to extend a big well done to the Nepalese team who had competed and displayed excellent skills, discipline and good sportsmanship.  Sadly, the Nepali team was only able to win a Bronze Medal which was won in the Veteran category by Master Rastra Rai.  The opportunity was also taken to welcome the two men team from Nepal who had also participated in the Championship.  Due to inevitable commitments arranged prior to the event, most of the sponsors were not able to attend.  The function was attended by Mr Binod Khadka, Mr Khem Gurung both from BFBS, Mr Bidur Pakhrin Vice Chairman of BGWS, Mr Laxman Basnet 4th Degree Black Belt ITF and Mr Gaya Khadka 1st Degree Black Belt ITF from Nepal, senior members, students and Instructors from Folkestone, Ashford, Blackwater, London, Farnborough, Canterbury and Maidstone.

Master Rastra Rai and Mr Laxman Basnet who is also the founder and president of the Nepal ITF Taekwondo Association in Nepal, had a profound talk regarding in ways that they could unify their support in collaborating their efforts in ensuring and expanding better relationships between the associations and communities through Taekwondo, physically and spiritually both abroad and at home.  The conversation ended with each other assuring their complete support in achieving their Associations goals in the coming days ahead.
